It has come to my attention that I have a rival - a wannabe investigatorial entrepreneur as it were. To show you loyal fans I am confident in the unique quality of my own powers of deduction and that I am not in the habit of being scaremongered, here is the link: http://www.bandidog.co.uk/

The self-called 'Oricle' claims to have the answer to everything. I will you to try him as I have faith that you will return after your trial to me for your healthy regular dose of intriguing problem-solving narrative.

I wish my esteemed competitor all the best in his chosen path. See you soon.

My esteemed friend, Tall Ted.

I must begin by saying it is good to have you back.

The answer to your riddle is of apparent ease. An old joke that has been passed down the generations from father to son, son to sister, sister to dolly and so on...

What's brown and sticky?

A stick.

Perhaps a little too obvious though...

I prefer to start my investigations with a bit of lateral thinking.

Let us break down the question:

What is:

a) Brown
b) Sticky

Things that are brown include:

Some shoes, mud, one of my older and less worn jumpers, log cabins, logs, my hair (what is left of it), Gordon, Dan, Charlie.

Things that are sticky:

Glue, sellotape, spiders, the Sticky Fingers Cafe (http://www.stickyfingers.co.uk/), envelopes, blue tack, snails, Hugh Evans Investigates and other high quality and attractive websites.

So with this evidence gathered I then like to fit the pieces of the jigsaw.

Before we forget why we ever started to read this, let us re-visit Tall Ted's original query:

'What is brown and sticky?'

Here are a few answers that have followed my investigation:

1) Bestselling author Dan Brown's regularly visited http://www.danbrown.com/. I know it is a sticky site due to its impressive Alexa website ranking of 28,979 (available at www.alexa.com)
Brown and sticky.

2) The BBQ sauce available with the Half Rack of Ribs (priced £7.45) available at the Sticky Fingers Cafe in London.

3) A stick.

Thank you again for re-visiting my site. With a little paint work and regular visits from commited problemees like yourself, my site could soon be brown and sticky.
